Hetty, a charming W.J. Terry bear from the 1920s, has arrived for a full restoration. Time has taken its toll and her snout has completely disappeared, but I will carefully recreate it, staying true to the slightly upturned profile characteristic of this maker. She is in need of a thorough clean and relining, as well as delicate repairs to the many tears and holes in her fabric.
Her paw pads, sadly beyond saving, will be replaced with vintage fabric carefully matched to her fur, ensuring they feel authentic to her original design. She is going to be a real challenge but I could not be more excited to bring her back to life and restore her beauty.
What makes Hetty truly special are her stunning big eyes which still hold so much character, even in her current worn state. Right now she may look a little sad but that only makes me more determined to give her back her dignity and most importantly her smile.
